Here at Rebounderz, we are big fans of basketball! At our Lansdale trampoline park, we even have an air basketball course for kids to practice and play on! It is the perfect place to build a love of the game with your kids. Maybe they will even want to be the next basketball superstar. If your kid has shown an interest in the sport, here are some tips to help them get the hang of it.

Practice Daily

Practice makes perfect, and this is doubly true for basketball. If your kid wants to get an edge on the competition, they will need the discipline to practice and improve every day. As a parent, you can help getting them a basketball goal to practice on, or giving them a ride to the closest basketball court. No other habit will help them get ahead in this sport more than regular practice.

Join a League

While daily practice will help your kid perfect the technical skills they will need on the court, they need actual experience on the court to know what to do with them. When they join a league, be it school or extracurricular, they will get experience playing the sport with their peers. This is great for socialization, and integral to building a good basketball player. Additionally, their coach will likely be able to hone their skills further, as well as pinpoint areas that are ripe for improvement.

Take an Interest

Kids are really just big imitation machines when you get right down to it. They learn just about everything from their parents. Chances are, if you take an interest in something, so will they. Whether that’s playing a pickup game with them in the backyard, or watching a game on t.v., spending time with them engaging in the sport is a great way to keep them interested, and you might just learn a few things from each other too.

Make it Fun

Kids have short attention spans, it is something that every parent deals with. This can be frustrating when you are trying to keep them focused on something. When distractions make focusing impossible, try putting a fun spin on whatever activity you’re doing. If you are shooting free throws, and your child wants to stop, try giving them a reward for making one more (something small, like an ice cream). And of course, when you want to break out the big guns, you can always take the kids to our Rebounderz Lansdale air basketball course for a day of fun and practice all in one swoop.

Our Lansdale trampoline park hosts a ton of fun activities and attractions for your kids to enjoy. Whether it’s our basketball slam, in the air dodgeball, foam pit, or open jump area, there is sure to be something for your little ones. If you have any questions about our location, hours, or attractions, please don’t hesitate to give us a call today. We’ll be happy to answer any questions that you may have.
