Indoor Trampoline Park

Because health and wellness shouldn’t focus only on how much you weigh!

New Year’s resolutions are being made and intentions are being conjured and most are glaringly made in the name of traditional beauty standards — for men it’s being ripped from head-to-toe and for women it’s being skinny and toned — but this fitspo in the new year is pretty exclusive and alienates much of the “real” representation of the American population.

At Rebounderz Sunrise, our facility welcomes everyone for an amazingly fun experience that is good for the body, too! With options for the whole family — from a Ninja Warrior Course and JumpXTREME Tower to an air pit and open jump area, our indoor trampoline park is a great place to play in the new year. So go ahead, and venture into ways movement and fitness is great for you and without staying so focused on your body.

How Movement and Exercise Add to Your Health (That Doesn’t Have to do With Your Body)

We get it, everyone wants to look amazing and fit into this ever-changing ideal of what traditional beauty is. But as we move away from our looks and into how we feel, we begin to create a healthier, more loving relationships with our bodies. It’s important to cultivate healthy eating and lifestyle habits too, but in the new year be kinder and more aware of your body. Below is just a splattering of what fitness can do for our health that doesn’t require losing weight or gaining a mass amount of muscle.

Sleep like a baby.

How does a restful night of sleep sound? For many adults, sleep disruptions are a common issue that leaves us fatigued and in a fog most of the time. And for kids, if they’re sleep deprived it can affect their growth and maturity and set them up for a host of academic issues. So, get more sleep! Exercise and movement is a perfect remedy to this. Exercise has both long- and short-term effects on sleep — not only does it prepare our bodies to fall asleep more quickly and sleep through the night, but then the next day we feel and function much more clearly.

Some forms of exercise such as yoga can actually calm your nerves and stress response — lulling you to sleep. So after an energetic visit to our indoor trampoline park, do a short yoga flow before bed to calm and relax your body.

Improve how you feel.

Especially around and after the holidays you can feel depleted and drained, both physically and emotionally. Invest in yourself and get some additional movement in to boost and release endorphins. When we begin to get better and more consistent in our exercise something truly magical happens — we feel better. Our bodies love it and our emotional health gets boosted by the lovely and adoring endorphins. So if you need an uplift in your life, exercise is one sure — and science-backed — way to do it.

Tackle Your Stress (Once and For All)

Stress is a nasty little bugger — stress ruins our immune system and over time can cause a whole slew of health complications — hello heart attacks and high blood pressure. If you struggle with stress, and we all do, get active. Focus on activity that makes you feel good. Our indoor trampoline park is a great way to connect with those you love, have a good laugh, and enjoy some healthy activity. Some other great ways to reduce your stress through movement is yoga, long, peaceful strolls, and swimming.

Get in tune.

When you begin to get active, you begin to tap into and understand what your body is telling you. You know what pushing your body may feel like when you experience muscle soreness or when you can up your game and dig in a little deeper. Exercise may even boost your confidence, regardless of the number on the scale.

Become more creative and productive.

When you move, you get things flowing — your blood oxygen levels increase and your lymph freely flows spurring the natural detoxification process — your body is beginning to wake up! If you’ve been in a slump, we know the shorter days combined with the holidays can really do a number, try getting more activity in. Increased activity can also spark your creativity and productivity! Many people who are consistent in their exercise routine report being more focused and productive at work and even more creative. Find a solution in movement when things are stale and need to be reimagined.

Reignite your motivation.

The holidays can drag you down — you’re eating a ton of treats and dealing with family — you’re just trying to survive. When things wind down, just get out and move, or even better, try it during the holidays. Sneak away and take the dog for a walk while the cookies are baking or grab a couple of friends and have a fitness night out — jump and bounce around at Rebounderz! There is nothing better than moving to gain motivation. Getting active and gaining better acceptance of your body, actually motivates you more to continue! The better you feel, the more likely you’ll keep doing it!

Momement, fitness, exercise — whatever you want to call it — reaches far beyond how much you weigh and what you look like. It is beneficial for so many more things that aren’t focused on your body. So get out and get moving in the new year.

Stop into our Sunrise location and move healthily into the new year!

Safety Tips for Playing of a Trampoline

Though trampolines are very fun toys to play with, they should still be used with caution. Though they are seemingly bouncy and carefree, they do have the potential to hurt you if you are not careful. In this blog, we will be discussing some tips and tricks to stay safe at our indoor trampoline park. Hopefully, by reading our blog, you will have a better understanding of how to safely play on our trampolines.

Take Your Earrings Off

You don’t have to take your rings off, but your earring should be taken out. When you are playing on a trampoline, it can be easy for your earring to get caught on something. Whether it gets caught on the trampoline or even your hair, the consequence could be painful. Even though having your earring ripped out is painful, losing your earring could be just as bad. If you are wearing earrings that you really love, the last thing you want to do is lose them. For your safety, it is best to take off your earrings before getting onto one of our trampolines.

Take Off Your Shoes

You should never have your shoes on while jumping on our trampolines. For one, the rubber soles of tennis shoes are bad for the fabric of our trampolines. Second, wearing shoes can be dangerous, especially if you accidentally land wrong or hit somebody. Though shoes can improve your traction on our trampolines, Rebounderz offers specialty grip socks to help. So, before you step onto one of our trampolines, please take off your shoes.

Tie Your Hair Up

If we had a dime for every time we heard about someone getting their hair stepped on — we would have a lot of dimes! Anybody with long hair should absolutely tie their hair up before going on a trampoline. If you have long hair, your risk of injury is increased, especially if you are bouncing or going through our obstacle course. Because you are excited and having fun, it can be easy to forget that your hair can easily catch on something or be stepped on by fellow jumpers. For your safety, you should tie your hair up before jumping!

Don’t Wear Loose Clothing

When it comes to jumping, you never want to wear loose clothing. That means any loose articles, such as blouses, dresses, skirts, and jackets should not be worn on our trampolines. For one, loose garments typically can flip up when jumping, which means you can show off more than your cool jumping moves. Second, loose clothing can slow you down while on a trampoline. Not to mention that your clothing can easily get caught underneath jumping feet. This only increases the risk of ripping your clothing.

“Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited to all we now know and understand, while imagination embraces the entire world, and all there ever will be to know and understand.”
-Albert Einstein

Role-Playing Is Healthy For Children

Einstein was one of the greatest minds of all time and he understood the importance of childhood imagination. When children are allowed to imagine, their minds are more open to what is around them and what they do not understand. As a parent, it is important to encourage your child’s imagination. When children aren’t able to imagine the possible and impossible things in life, they are restricted to only what they know. In a way, raw facts and knowledge becomes like a cage to them. With imagination, children can enjoy the wonders of all things and carry that ability to imagine with them when they grow up.
In this blog, we will discuss why imagination and role-playing are so important to a child. At Rebounderz of Newport News, we encourage imagination above all. At our trampoline park, your little one can imagine themselves as anything they would like.

Imagination Is Healthy For Brain Activity

Imagination is great for your child, not just to excite their creativity, but to strengthen brain activity. When children are allowed to imagine, they are exercising their brain in different ways. For example, if you were to examine the brain activity of a child, real-world events and information flow in the brain upwards in the brain from the occipital to the parietal lobe. However, when a child imagines and exercises their creativity, information is their brain flows downward, from the parietal to the occipital lobe.

Role-Playing Encourages Cooperation

When children role-play, they are able to imagine themselves as something or somewhere else. Better still, role-playing encourages your child to not only imagine to themselves, but imagine with others as well. Playing with other children can teach your child to share their imaginary worlds and encourage others to “see” as they do. This skill is not only powerful, but can be applied in the adult world as well. Being able to share ideas and encourage others to participate in your imagination is an extremely useful skill, especially for adults. As a parent, you can teach your child the best ways to role-play with others and share their creativity.

Sharing Their Creative Stories

It is rare that if a child is imagining something, that they will keep it to themselves. This means they will most likely tell you all about the imaginary friend they have or even the superpower they believe they have. A child is able to view their own world and imagine it as a wonderous, magical place. Being able to share this way of thinking is important because it allows them to express themselves with others. Self-expression is not only healthy, but important for any child to develop their sense of self-worth.

Confidence Building

Role-playing is an important part of childhood because it enables kids to imagine themselves as other things, generally important and powerful people or things. For instance, many children won’t imagine themselves as the loser of a game or an ordinary person. Instead, they will imagine themselves as a superhero or a skilled athlete. Imagination and role-play allows children to imagine themselves as successful and important people. This, obviously, can do a lot for their self-esteem. Better still, if your child has aspirations to be something, imagination can be a fantastic motivator. For instance, if a child wishes to be an astronaut, imagining that they are one can be the motivation they need to train, study, and become anything they want in life.

See Other Points of View

Role-playing can be a valuable tool to teach children to think of others and experience things from another’s point of view. For instance, when a child is pretending to be something, they are able to imagine themselves in that person or things perspective. This ability to imagine something from a different perspective is a useful way to teach your child alternate viewpoints. By being able to understand others and how they think, they can get a better understanding of the world around them. For example, if your child is pretending to be, say, a puppy, they can pretend that they want a treat in order to do tricks. Later, when they aren’t imagining themselves as a dog, they might recall the perspective of being an animal and focus their compassion to your home’s pet. This example isn’t guaranteed, as role-playing doesn’t always mean that children will learn to be compassionate beings by just by pretending a few times, however, it does teach them to think from another’s perspective and think outside of themselves.

Why Children Love the Holidays

Directly after your Thanksgiving meal, there is a change in the air. Perhaps it is all in your mind, or maybe, there is something actually different ruminating around your home? Once the Thanksgiving turkey has been eaten, the winter holiday season can officially begin! With this, a new sense of holiday cheer can be initiated and children can bounce around with excitement. But why? What is so special about the holiday season?
In this blog, we will discuss what is so special about the holiday season, specifically for children. By reading our blog, hopefully, you can recall the cheer, excitement, and joy you once felt during the holiday season. Now, it is your kid’s turn to feel those emotions of holiday spirit!

What’s in the air? Snow!

There is something dazzling about snow. Its white purity can make even the most rugged of terrains look peaceful and calm. But snow does a lot more for us than just improve our surroundings aesthetic value, there is a lot more! For instance, the snow can bring on plenty of fun activities for children. Whether your kids want to skate at an ice rink or sled down a mountainside, the snow can provide plenty of fun activities for all ages. In fact, during the winter parents and children can come together and learn new lessons and partake in new activities. Skiing and snowboarding are both past times that parents can share with their families. As a child, the holiday season can offer opportunities to learn new things and participate in fun outdoor activities.

Holiday Treats

As a child, perhaps you can recall the anticipation you felt waiting for holiday treats. Whether it was your grandmother, aunt, uncle, mother, or father, someone in your family probably created a traditional holiday treat. For example, some families make gingerbread cookies, or fudge, or even unique pies. No matter what your family’s traditions are, there is typically a treat we all look forward to during the holiday season. Because of the anticipation of a few sweet treats, children will often look forward to the season with great excitement.

Holiday Decorations

Decorating your house for the holidays can be a tender moment for families. Together, you all can come together and decorate your home to celebrate the season. For children, decorating can be fun because it means they can all unpack interesting decorations and spread them throughout the house. As a child, the bright colors of ornaments, lights, and garlands can be enough to excite their holiday spirit. As a parent, you can enjoy watching your kids enjoy decorating and preparing for the holidays. No matter what holiday celebration your family participates in, decorations can be utilized. Because of this, no matter your religious beliefs, you and your family can enjoy family traditions.

Presents

Children love the holidays because it means they will receive presents. I mean, who could blame them? Free gifts with requirements to give gifts back — sounds like a good time! But really, the holidays are a wonderful time because children can earn toys that they have been anticipating for months. Parents can also experience the joy of seeing the look on their child’s face as they are overcome with excitement and happiness.
But, getting gifts is not the only thing to be excited about! For some children, just the ability to unwrap a present is exciting. For instance, they can anticipate what lies underneath their tree. Trying to determine what their presents are and unveiling them later is all part of the wonderful experience of the holidays.

Rebounderz of Edison, NJ

Though children may look forward to the holidays with great anticipation for sweet treats, snow sports, and presents, there are other things they can look forward too — like family time at Rebounderz! Though the holidays have a way of bringing family members together, Rebounderz welcomes families of all sizes to enjoy our trampoline park year round. Presents can be great, but a child can really appreciate the holidays when their family is happy and together to enjoy the season.

No matter what season, you and your family are always welcomed at Rebounderz. Visit our trampoline park today and spend the day jumping!

The Holiday season has arrived! Days full of joyous celebrations with good food and the company of family. When it is cold outside and there are a million things going on inside, it can be difficult to make sure that everyone in your family is still active. Physical activity is incredibly important all year round, but special attention should be paid in the winter when it is more difficult to stay casually active — running around outside, visiting the playground, riding a bike to friends’ houses, while at the same time there is an increase in sweet treats and densely packed family meals. Physical activity for children is important to their neurological and physical development, maintaining a healthy weight, and helps promote better sleep and cognition. Join us in today’s post as we discuss some of the ways you can help keep your children active over the holidays.

Walking light show.

Instead of piling into the car and driving around to gawk at the amazing Christmas light shows, strap on your sneakers and pound the pavement instead! Bundle up the family and head out for a post-dinner walk to enjoy the lights and trees in your neighborhood. You can drive to other neighborhoods and get out and walk. Not only is this idea great for getting in some physical activity, but is also a nice bonding experience away from the noise and screens of the daily hustle at home. While you walk, it also allows you time to chat with your family, which will help bring you all closer together, and there is no better holiday gift than that!

Winter sports.

There is a variety of fun winter outdoor sports that you and your kids can engage in! Even if the ground is covered in snow, you can get out and have fun enjoying it! Take up horseshoeing, cross-country skiing, or hockey with your kids. You can go ice skating or find a nice hill to go sledding down. The great thing about winter sports — besides the fact that you can’t do it all year around — is that they are fun, so you don’t even realize the exercise you are getting! Additionally, participating in outdoor winter sports also helps your kids hone the skills needed to play non-winter sports!

Indoor trampoline park.

To get your kids exercising and having fun at the same time, take them for a few hours at your local trampoline park. Research suggests that jumping for 15 minutes is equivalent to running for an hour — but is way more fun! Your Lansdale Rebounderz offers a variety of fun and active activities including a trampoline basketball court, air dodgeball, a 10,000 square foot trampoline arena, and a laser tag arena. Your kids will delight in running around all day, not even aware of the beneficial exercise they are engaging in!

Don’t wait until the new year to make your family more active, start today! Keeping your kids active in the winter will help make it easier to stay active all year! Join us at Rebounderz of Lansdale for some active indoor fun this holiday season. Check us out online or stop by today to find out about our specials and plan your day of fun!
